Charla Long is Executive Director of the Competency-Based Education Network (C-BEN), a national consortium of higher education institutions and statewide systems dedicated to designing, developing and scaling new models of competency-based student learning. Concurrently, she is President of Go Long Consulting, a firm focused on higher education innovation. Long was the Founding Dean of the College of Professional Studies at Lipscomb University and the creator of their naturally acclaimed competency-based education model and badging ecosystem.
Lou Pugliese
Chief Executive Officer @UMUC Ventures
Pugliese is the founding Chief Executive Officer of Blackboard Inc. and a multi-venture entrepreneur with over 20 years of business and innovation expertise. He joined UMUC Ventures in 2019 from Arizona State University (ASU) where he was a Senior Innovation Fellow and Managing Director of the Action Lab, EdPlus, a research and development enterprise for ASU focused on the design and scalable delivery of digital teaching and learning models.
